Poem Emulation

I am American too.
From my siblings, I am the youngest one.
I see everything differently
within the days that pass

My mind learns something new
with every view.

 In the upcoming day,
Other members will eat at our table
No insignificant being

Will tell them to eat

in the neighboring country.
Then.

Also,

They will see our splendid personalities

And pity themselves.

 We are American too.

Our Little Prince project was on chapter 10. The universal theme was "order" and it can be natural or constructed. The king was a lonely ruler so we made our project's background a dark, sad place and the broken crown is the constructed part. The nature part are the feelings because we are all born with feelings.

Rene Descartes' philosophical views were that the mind can work on it's own and if we can think, we must be living. Perception is an irrefutable truth because we can be sure of something that our mind is telling us, but not of what our body sees. Descartes believes we should live a life of doubt because not everyone's bodies are the same. For example, we may see a picture of a tree but others may see a flower or a piece of broccoli. Perceiving is an irrefutable truth which leads to Descartes and his famous saying, "I think, therefore I am."

Abstraction

We did our abstraction ladder and picture on systems. The abstract art shows that we grow up thinking that our relationships are just full of happiness but they really aren't. The lines going towards the point in the middle represent our imagination and thoughts on love stories. Once we get there, our eyes are opened up to the reality of love and we find out that it is not all fun and games. Our ladder started off with the story Beauty and the Beast because it is a love story that makes kid's imagine perfect love like that. Then, our ladder went off into love story, teenagers, soulmates, love, commitment, tradition, and finally systems. We chose systems as our universal theme topic because this is how today's society grows up, it is a cycle that will continue for a long time.

Rene Descartes quote, "I think therefore I am" can be a very confusing quote that makes us wonder. At first, I thought this quote was about being confident about yourself and not caring what other say, but it doesn't. "I think therefore I am", means that Descartes knows he is real because he is able to think about certain things. Thinking makes us real.
